In July 2008, Village
Gardens broke ground on The Marketplace at Village Gardens, a village center
that will provide Village Gardens residents a place that meets their daily
needs, and serves as a shopping destination for Lincoln citizens and
visitors. There are two projects anticipated to being in Spring 2010:
a massive renovation of the historic Campbell's red barn and construction of
a 5000 SF retail building located on Padsite #6. Stay tuned!
What already exists in The
Marketplace? Come & see! Here's a sampling of what you will
find:
The
Marriott Residence Inn is a 91-suite, extended-stay hotel. Each room
includes a kitchenette, granite countertops, and other amenities.
Guests will enjoy the hotel's pool, courtesy breakfast, and the short walk
to the center of The Marketplace. Open since September 2009, the
Residence Inn is quickly establishing itself as Lincoln's premier
extended-stay hotel. For more information, visit
Village Gardens Residence Inn or the Corporate
Website.
The Carriage House is
a
27,000 SF building located at 5800 Hidcote Drive, just a block southeast of
the intersection of 56th & Pine Lake Road. With a beautiful limestone
& stucco facade, this building features such architectural detail as copper
overhangs and a rounded, carriage house drive-through (hence, the name!) This building
is home to Scooter's
Coffeehouse, which uses the
carriage house entrance as a covered drive-through. The Carriage House
is also home to JMisko Surgical Design MD, Forte Salon, Heiss Chiropractic & Acupuncture, and
Sonata - Artful Living at Home. The
second floor is office space. For more information about leasing
spaces (either retail or office) contact Sam Manzitto, Jr. at
samjr@manzitto.com.
Finally,
Trinity United
Methodist Church moved its
congregation to The Marketplace in February 2010. Construction of Phase I of this
project began in October 2008. In addition to its church services & activities,
Trinity United
Methodist Church operates one of the most in-demand daycares in the City of
Lincoln, and will move this operation to its new facility as well. For
