Trails, Parks, and Green Spaces

Village Gardens lives up to its name, with elegantly landscaped boulevards, carefully preserved and nurtured wetlands and ponds, parks with innovative play structures, gazebos, and picnic areas, and a variety of public gathering places.

A bike trail will flow  through the neighborhood and connect with the greater Lincoln trails system. Tree-lined streets with extra wide sidewalks provide safe, convenient connections with parks, Marketplace at Village Gardens, and the school.

The Marketplace at Village Gardens

The Marketplace at Village Gardens will offer an engaging array of shopping, dining, and business services in an innovative pedestrian-oriented environment.

With a theme around Home & Garden, Health and Hearth, the Marketplace at Village Gardens will create an atmosphere where people of all ages will shop, play and work.

Envision coffee shops, ice cream parlors, and inventive restaurants alongside drycleaners and professional services. With convenient on- and off-street parking, this walkable retail center will provide interesting and accessible places to eat, shop, chat, and conduct business.

Apartments, lofts, and work/live residential options will further enhance the Marketplace at Village Gardens and offer new opportunities to Lincoln residents and business owners.

The existing Campbell’s Nursery will anchor the Marketplace at Village Gardens, located at 56th and Pine Lake Road, with additional retail and businesses developments to begin construction in 2007.

Lincoln Public Elementary School

Lincoln Public Schools owns a 20-acre site on the west edge of the Village Gardens neighborhood and plans to build an elementary school on the site when the surrounding population reaches target levels. The school will face east with the main entrance on Blanchard Blvd.  The school site will also feature play fields and a potential tot lot for integration with the daycare.  The daycare is planned to be built east of the School grounds with Village Gardens and Thompson Creek.
